Snöball Process Overview
Step 1 - Complete The Onboarding form
The largest Snöball begins with a single flake - in this case, completing the onboarding form located here. We’ll ask you a few questions about your event, who you’ll be reaching out to, and the goals that you have for it. The more details that you can provide at the start, the better!
Step 2 - First contact
Once we’ve received your event details, we’ll reach out to you within 48 business hours. We’ll send you a link to a secure folder where you can upload some key assets, including logos for sponsors and exhibitors, and head shots for speakers.
You’ll also be provided with a spreadsheet where you will add attendee details for those who have already registered for your event (note that Snöball also connects to several online registration providers via API, so we’re also able to simply sync to your existing registration, exhibitor, and speaker databases)
We will also send you DNS records for your website and email domain. These DNS records are used to authorize Snöball to send emails on behalf of your organization, ensuring that they’re not flagged as spam.
Finally, you’ll receive instructions on how to integrate the Snöball Widget into your website and registration pages. This widget is used to track registrations that originate from a Snöball link, so that you can get real-time data on your campaigns’ progress!
Step 3 - Kickoff Call
Next you’ll be invited to a kickoff call with a Snöball team member to review your goals and how we’ll move forward with your campaign to maximize butts-in-seats!
Step 4 - Technical Setup
The Snöball widget is a JavaScript snippet that will need to be placed on your event website, as well as your event registration pages. Each registration platform will have different integration method, so we’ll send you personalized instructions on how to add it.
We also provide DKIM and SPF records to add to your domain, which will allow Snöball to send campaign emails on your behalf without being flagged as an email spoof attempt.
Step 5 - Working With Your Campaign Manager
Your Snöball Campaign Manager will work with you to establish the Campaign Calendar for your event. This process includes:
- Confirming your audience segments (Attendees, Partners, and Speakers)
- Initial email launch: An email campaign sent to all existing registrant categories inviting them to share their attendance. Typically a separate campaign is sent for each attendee category, with messaging reflecting this.
- Creation of social media share posts: The Snöball share page is a call to action shared by your attendees to their social media contacts. Your campaign manager will help with the call to action, tailored to different social media channels that you choose to make available.
- Email reminders: Your Snöball Campaign Manager will work with you to tweak your messaging for follow-up reminder campaigns, all while keeping the same consistent call to action.
Step 6 - LAUNCH
Once you launch your campaign you'll see the results in real-time through the Snöboard, our comprehensive dashboard reporting page. We'll also keep you looped in with automatic reporting emailed to you on the cadence of your choice.
